Child Safety Standards

Our Commitment

Maz is a social event-planning app that helps groups of friends discover activities, vote on where to go, and save the memories. Because Maz includes user profiles, friend invitations, group interactions, and user-uploaded photos, we recognize that we have a responsibility to keep children safe on our platform.

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, and any other conduct that endangers minors. These Child Safety Standards describe what is prohibited, how users can report concerns, how we respond, and how to reach our designated point of contact.

2

Prohibited Content and Conduct

The following content and conduct are strictly prohibited on Maz and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to law enforcement where applicable:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including photographs, videos, drawings, animations, computer-generated imagery, or text that sexualizes minors
  • Grooming behavior — any attempt by an adult to develop a relationship with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation
  • Solicitation of sexual content, sexual conversation, or in-person meetings with minors
  • Sharing, requesting, or trading sexually explicit content involving anyone under the age of 18
  • Sexualized commentary, sexual harassment, or sexual extortion directed at minors
  • Use of Maz to facilitate, promote, normalize, or glorify the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors in any form
  • Linking to, advertising, or directing users to off-platform resources or services that contain or facilitate CSAE
3

Age Eligibility

Maz is not directed to children. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and at least 16 in jurisdictions that require a higher minimum age (such as parts of the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly permit anyone under these ages to use the Service. If we learn that an account belongs to a user who does not meet our age requirements, we will terminate the account and delete the associated personal information.

How to Report a Concern

We rely on our community to help us identify and remove unsafe content. If you encounter content, a profile, or a message on Maz that you believe involves child sexual abuse, exploitation, or grooming, please report it immediately through any of the following channels:

  • In-app reporting — use the report option available on user profiles, group members, and event content to flag the user or content to our safety team
  • In-app blocking — block any user to immediately stop further contact while our team investigates
  • Email — write to us at anthonybmilan@gmail.com with as much detail as you can share, including usernames, screenshots, approximate date and time, and the group or event where the content appeared

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then report to us so we can preserve evidence and assist authorities.

How We Respond to Reports

When a report is received, our safety team takes the following actions:

  • Review reports involving suspected child safety violations on a priority basis, ahead of other moderation queues
  • Remove confirmed CSAM and other prohibited content from the Service, including from groups, events, profiles, and memories
  • Suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of users who upload prohibited content or engage in prohibited conduct
  • Preserve relevant content, account information, and metadata as required by law to support investigations
  • Report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, and to other competent authorities in the applicable jurisdiction (for example, the Internet Watch Foundation in the United Kingdom, or the relevant EU national authority)
  • Cooperate with valid legal requests from law enforcement consistent with applicable law and our Privacy Policy

We do not return removed content to the user who uploaded it, and terminated accounts are not eligible for reinstatement.

6

Detection and Prevention

In addition to user reporting, we work to prevent CSAE on Maz through:

  • Account-level controls including the ability to block other users, leave or report groups, and remove yourself from any event
  • Friend-only and group-only visibility for sensitive content such as event photos and memories — content is not browsable by the general public
  • Restrictions on profile content and a review process for content flagged by users or surfaced by automated checks
  • Ongoing review of our moderation tools and policies as our community grows and as new risks emerge
7

Compliance with Law

Maz complies with all applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where we operate. This includes our obligation under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A to report apparent child sexual abuse material to the NCMEC CyberTipline, our obligations under the EU Digital Services Act and equivalent regional regimes, and any reporting obligations imposed by the local laws of the user's country. We retain records of reports and removals as required to support these obligations.

8

Designated Point of Contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety matters is available to speak with regulators, law enforcement, and platform partners about Maz's CSAE prevention practices and compliance.

Updates to These Standards

We may update these Child Safety Standards from time to time as our product, our community, and the regulatory environment evolve. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date below. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Standards.
