Overview
You can request deletion of your Maz account at any time. This page explains how to start the process, what we permanently delete, and the limited information we retain afterwards.
Maz is a social event planning app that helps groups of friends discover activities, vote on where to go, and save the memories. Because some of what you create on Maz is shared with your friends and groups, account deletion is designed to protect your privacy while keeping your group's shared history intact.

How to Request Deletion
- Tap the Request Account Deletion button at the bottom of this page. Your email app will open with a pre-filled message.
- Send the email from the address tied to your Maz account. We use this to verify the request belongs to the account owner.
- We'll confirm receipt and complete deletion within 30 days. You'll receive a final confirmation once the deletion is done.

What We Permanently Delete
On account deletion, the following are permanently removed from our systems:
- Authentication credentials and password
- Profile photo or avatar
- Date of birth
- Social-provider links (Google, Apple), revoked on the provider side
- Friendships
- Group memberships
- Votes, likes, and favorites
- Personal templates

What We Retain
A tombstone record is kept (with isDeleted: true and a mangled email) for two reasons:
- Referential integrity — to preserve shared content you authored that other users still depend on, such as group activities, events, and audit logs, so your friends' history of your plans together remains intact.
- Legal and audit requirements — to satisfy applicable record-keeping, dispute-resolution, and compliance obligations.
The tombstone contains no personal identifiers that can be used to contact or recognize you.
